Welcome to the comprehensive FAQ for the "A Chronicle of the Object" Series, also called the Chronicles (or Chronicles of the Object). This guide is designed to help you understand how to participate in our decentralized storytelling process while reinforcing the deflationary nature of the $OBJECT token on the XRPL.
The Chronicles are our narrative backbone—a living, evolving story that weaves together community contributions and the intrinsic lore of the XRPL.
Chronicle 1: The Beginnning (Read link) Memo Excerpt:
"Before the apes, before the punks, before the endless tide of pixelated collectibles, there was… a flicker. A resonance..." Overview: This chronicle recounts the mysterious emergence of the Whispershape, an anomaly that formed the very essence of the XRPL before conventional transactions and ownership came into being. It explores the notion of a digital genesis—where the blockchain itself was imbued with a hidden, living narrative.
Chronicle 2: The Topology of Arrival (Read link) Memo Excerpt:
"A digital wilderness. Before the coins, before the commerce, there was something else." Overview: This entry introduces Elara—a seemingly ordinary figure whose unassuming nature belies her profound influence on the XRPL’s hidden architecture. Her presence unveils the underlying "locus" that connects the ledger’s past with its future, marking a significant turning point in our story.
To become a part of the evolving narrative:
Burn Your OBJECT:
Tool: Use the XRP Tool Kit for a smooth burning process.
Issuer Address:
Memo Field Requirement: When sending your OBJECT to the issuer, include a plain text memo. This memo is your narrative contribution—a brief foreword or idea for the next Chronicle.
Crafting a Quality Memo:
Length & Focus: Your memo should capture 1-2 narrative actions or moments. For example:
"The Object winked at the archivist, and she froze instantly in disbelief."
Content Guidelines:
Fictional & Creative: Ensure your memo stays within the realm of creative storytelling.
Safe & Respectful: Avoid content that is illegal, harmful, explicit, or politically charged.
Deflationary Focus: The goal is to burn as many OBJECT tokens as possible to not only influence the narrative but also contribute to our deflationary tokenomics. Lower burns (like 1 OBJECT) may be overlooked, so consider burning higher amounts to have a stronger impact.
Review and Selection:
Our team collects all memos submitted (Note: this process is not automatic. You'll still need to submit screenshots/transaction links to our team).
We evaluate contributions based on narrative creativity, adherence to guidelines, and deflationary impact.
Hard Limit: Only 100 memos will be selected for incorporation into each Chronicle cycle (so only 100 Chronicles). However, additional side-quests and parallel narratives may emerge under different creative banners.
Development and Publication:
Selected memos are developed into a cohesive narrative by our creative team.
Each chosen contribution is expanded upon with additional context, dialogue, and original cover art.
Timeframe: Contributions undergo a creative drafting process that typically takes 2-3 weeks. If you haven’t received any communication within that period, please feel free to follow up.
Dual Purpose of Each Burn:
Narrative Influence: Your memo helps guide the next chapter of our collective story.
Tokenomics Impact: Every OBJECT token burned reduces the overall circulating supply, bolstering the deflationary model and, potentially, the token’s value.
Lore-gorithmic Attention: This is our term for the way storytelling and token burns work together. As the narrative evolves, so does the perceived value and uniqueness of each $OBJECT. Your creative input becomes a part of the blockchain’s living history.
Clarity and Impact: A strong memo is clear, concise, and evocative. It should instantly convey a mood or action that fits within the established lore.
Action-Oriented: Focus on a singular, striking moment or a small sequence of events. Overly complex or sprawling ideas might be harder to integrate.
Fictional and Immersive: Keep your ideas in the realm of myth, legend, or abstract digital phenomena. Embrace the speculative nature of our project.
Avoiding Off-Brand Content: Refrain from including content that could detract from the overall narrative tone. Stick to imaginative and artistic expressions rather than literal or mundane descriptions.
Absolutely. Incorporating a unique name from the Object Generator is encouraged—it adds a layer of personalization and helps canonize your contribution within the lore.
Not every memo can make it into the official Chronicle. However, every contribution is valued as part of the larger creative process. Your ideas may be used in future story cycles or inspire new side-quests that expand our narrative universe.
Republishing: We welcome and encourage the sharing of our Chronicle entries. No explicit permission is required.
Attribution Request: Please include a canonical link back to our site (www.object.technology) when republishing our content to help spread the word and maintain narrative integrity.
If you have questions or want to share a screenshot of your memo for consideration:
Social Media: Send a DM on X (@ObjectXRPL).
Contact Form: Use our contact form.
Email: Reach out directly via email.
After submitting your memo, expect a turnaround time of approximately 2-3 weeks for review, narrative development, and publication. If you haven’t heard back within this timeframe, we encourage you to reach out for an update.
The "A Chronicle of the Object" Series is a unique blend of creative expression and blockchain tokenomics.
By participating, you’re not only shaping a rich, decentralized narrative but also contributing to the deflationary force that underpins the value of $OBJECT. Your story, no matter how brief, plays a crucial role in our collective legacy.
Happy storytelling, and thank you for being an essential part of this journey!
